 INTRODUCTION

Zhejiang Medical College, the solo medicine-based college targeted at practical talents in Zhejiang and officially accredited by the State Ministry of Education, is funded by Zhejiang Provincial Government and supervised by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Public Health.
The college is located in the Hangzhou Binjiang Higher Education Park, occupying an area of 15 hectares with 82,000 sq.m of education buildings space. The college is equipped with the best facilities for teaching and research including 10,000 sq.m of lecture buildings, 3,370 sq.m of labs for basic medicine, 6600sq.m of labs for specialized experiments, language labs, computer labs, multi-media rooms and gymnasium. The college owns a standard track and field area and an all-weather playground for basketball, volleyball, tennis and football. The college library has stored 130,000 books with a large computer-reading room, and a periodical reading room. The college is lined with an all-round ability Internet 100M campus net,
containing Qinghua Tongfang data base of Chinese periodicals, Wanfang data base, 25000 computer books, 200000 China digit library books, 856000 shared net library books in the Hangzhou Binjiang Higher Education Park. The teaching instrument and equipment totals RMB 30 million yuan (USD4 million). In order to strengthen the medical teaching and practice, the college has set up three affiliated hospitals, 48 teaching hospitals, 27 training base of medical practice outside the campus.
