| The library information center of Zhejiang Medical College has a long brilliant history with a rich collection of books, which is the information center of teaching and scientific research, as well as one of the important academic institutions of the college. The building area of the center amounts to 4600 square meters, with approximately 700 seats.
The center consists of Integrated Stack Room 1, Integrated Stack Room 2, Stack Room for Medical References, Reading Room for Literature and Arts, Reading Room for medicine, Intensive Stack Room, Stack Room for Past journals, Electronic Reading Room, Self Study Room. Located at the center of the campus, the main building of the library information center is magnificent, with a well-designed inner layout, which is one of the highlights of the beautiful campus.
After the long-term accumulation, the library information center has formed a medical-oriented and systematically complete collection system. The current paper-based collections held by the center are more than 300,000 volumes, and also, the center holds 475,000 electronic books and 700 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals. In addition, the center holds online academic journal and dissertation databases such as VIP and Wanfang, to meet the requirements of learning, teaching and research.
The library information center currently applies the integrated system of library management developed by Dalian Wangxin Company, which leads to the realization of integrated and automatic computer management. The library information center, with a variety of functions and modern service methods, provides teachers and students with the service of borrowing, reading, user education, database searching and all sorts of document information service.
The library information center is bright and spacious with elegant environment, which is a user-friendly place for borrowing, reading and learning, as well as an important window to the civilized campus.
Zhejiang Medical Education grew out of Secondary Medical Education
Zhejiang Medical Education grew out of Secondary Medical Education ,which was established in 1982 and sponsored by Zhejiang Medical Education Research Department . It was the restricted academic periodical caters to medical workers within Zhejiang Province at that time.
The periodical changed its name in 2000 and was approved to be a public issued academic journal (CSSN: ISSN1672-0024 CN33-1297/R) by National Science and Technology Department in May 19th,2002. So far, it is the sole medical educational publication in Zhejiang Province. Its main contents covers from education research, teaching management, college administration, hygiene management, quality education, curriculum setting, political and ideological work, and, basic and clinical research, etc.
The editorial members follow DengXiaoping’s Theory and Thoughts of “Three Representations” as the guidelines, adhering to the scientific concept of development. It insists “quality first”, and lays stress on their advanced scientific level, creativeness, actual effect and guidance. Based on medical education, the periodical mainly serves the grass-roots medical units. It also contributes itself to the medical education reform and medical and health work as well.
Now, the periodical has been listed in the medical journal catalogue which is used as a critical examination and appraisal of senior titles for technical personnel.
Journal of Zhejiang Medical College
Journal of Zhejiang Medical College is a comprehensive academic quarterly with regard to medical scientific research. Since the debut of its tentative version in January 2003, up to now, the journal, financed entirely by Zhejiang Medical College, has been internally published 24 volumes in the format of 16K. The research articles published in the journal relate to the following aspects: basic medicine, clinical medicine, medical imaging, medical laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, general medicine, preventive medicine, maternal and child health care, dental technology, cross-medicine and social sciences, education and research in the field of teaching. The major columns include expert forum, original research, technical methods, research and studies, exchange of experience, synthesis columns, and short reports.
